Sherry's strong attention to detail and desire to help people make her uniquely suited to run the firm's compliance, accounting and human resources functions.
Sherry manages Brightworth's accounting and human resources departments. As Chief Compliance Officer, her responsibility is to maintain a strong U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) compliance program for the firm. Sherry has developed and administered the compliance policies and procedures for Brightworth including monitoring the business practices of the firm and preparing SEC filings. In her human resources role, Sherry is responsible for recruiting, hiring and training new staff along with assisting in staff development and reviews. Sherry previously served in the roles of senior financial planner and manager of financial planning at Brightworth and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. She has 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently focusing in the area of SEC compliance and operations.
Prior to joining Brightworth, Sherry worked at the investment firm Robinson Humphrey-Smith Barney and has passed various securities licensing tests. Sherry graduated with high honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with an undergraduate degree in management. She received her Master in Business Administration from Georgia State University in 1995. Sherry and her husband, Andrew, live in Alpharetta, Ga. She has two children and is an active member of Congregation Dor Tamid.
